Betty Jean Marr Boldin

Lenoir,NC- Mrs. Betty Jean Marr Boldin, age 83, passed away at her home on Thursday, July 8, 2010. Mrs. Boldin was born March 8


, 1927 in Helen, Georgia, to the late James Frank Marr and Pauline Lusk Marr. Mrs. Boldin was married to Lt. Col. Ralph A. Boldin, USA RET for 64 years. Mrs. Boldin retired from Western Union, as a manager, after 28 years of service.


In addition to her parents, Mrs. Boldin was predeceased by her sister, Louise Lester, and her brothers, Bill and Jim Marr.


In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Ed Boldin and wife Ruby of Lenoir; sisters, Kathleen Tatham and Margaret Sammons; brother, Don Marr; two grandchildren and their spouses, James Boldin, DMA, and Kristen, and Joanna Porter, and John; and her special niece, Dianne Tatham Kaskey.


A celebration of Mrs. Boldin’s life will be held 3:00 PM, Sunday, July 11, 2010, at Lower Creek Baptist Church, with Reverend Bert Blackburn officiating. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery.


The family will receive friends Sunday, July 11, 2010, from 2:00 until 3:00, at Lower Creek Baptist Church.
