John Everett Josephson
7/24/1945 - 7/20/2010



Lenoir, NC – Mr. John Everett Josephson, age 64, of Lenoir, passed away at his home on Tuesday, July 20, 2010. 


 


Born July 24, 1945 in Rochester, New York, John was a son of Margaret Brundage Josephson and the late, John William Josephson.  John was an instructor for 15 years in the Adult Basic Skills and GED programs at Caldwell Community College & Technical Institute.  He found great joy interacting with his students and seeing them reach their goals.  He was an active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Hudson. 


 


He is survived by his wife, Kathryn Josephson; a daughter and son-in-law, Michelle Josephson Brents and her husband Michael; a son and daughter-in-law, John Mark Josephson and wife Amy McClain; his mother, Margaret Josephson; his mother-in-law, Caro Zeller; his siblings, Susan Josephson and Myra Rogers, James Josephson, Margaret Josephson, Kathy and Alex Pottetti, and Colonel William Zeller and Mrs. Cass Zeller; two nieces, Kristina Pottetti and Laura Zeller; he is also survived by numerous other relatives.


 


A celebration of John’s life will be held on his birthday, Saturday, July 24, 2010 at 12:00 PM at the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Hudson with Reverend Marcus Ollis officiating.  Inurnment will follow the service at the church’s columbarium with full military honors.


 


The family will receive friends in the church sanctuary from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM prior to the service.


 


In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church, Memorial Outreach Fund, 352 Central Street, Hudson, NC  28638
