Mr. Adolphus “Junior” Decatour Sanders, Jr., age 86, of Hudson passed away on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at his home. Born March 14, 1931 in Caldwell County, Junior was a son of the late Adolphus Sanders, Sr. and Josephine Arnold Sanders. Junior was a veteran of the armed forces serving in the Navy for 16 years and the Army for two years. He served during the time of the Korean War. He had worked many years in the furniture business where he was an upholster. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mattie Rebecca Sanders; an infant son, John Houston Sanders; and numerous brothers and sisters. Survivors include his children, Linda Andrews, Keith Sanders, Mary Bryant, Gwen Kirby, Bruce Sanders, Kay Gragg and Karen Spencer; a sister, Louise Marley; he is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. A celebration of Junior’s life will be held on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at 12:00 Noon at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens with Chaplain John Robbins and Pastor John Ellis officiating.
