Amanda Michelle Greene Richardson, 37, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, October 1, 2017. Amanda was surrounded by her loving family at Wake Forest Baptist Health Hospital in Winston-Salem, NC at her passing. Family, friends, and others whose lives Amanda touched are invited to Refuge Missionary Baptist Church 375 Mt Herman Rd, Hudson, on Friday, October 6, 2017.Services will begin at 1:00 p.m. and the family will receive friends from 11:30 to 1:00. Graveside services immediately following at Blue Ridge Cemetery. Pallbearers will be David Lail, Chris Hullender, Chuck Ritchie, Darren Peterson, Bud Nelson, and Jonathan Woodie. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Preston Richardson, Jr, and daughter, Cadence Nicole, of the home; Grandparents, Rosie and Lee Wilcox, of Lenoir; her mother, Penny Greene, and companion, Michael Phillips, of Lenoir; her brother, Daniel Greene, and wife, Chelsea, of Lenoir; her sister, Cassie Rickman, and husband, Michael, of Cove Springs, FL; two stepdaughters, Lindsay Richardson and Sydney Richardson of Tyler, TX; mother in law, Linda Gowing, and husband, Dave of Mullins, SC; three brothers in law, Troy Richardson, and wife, Tiffany, of Conway, SC and James Richardson and Jason Richardson of Florence, SC; three sisters in law, Lisa Medina, and husband, Luis, of Mullins, SC and Ashley Dew and Brandy Dew of Whiteville, NC; two step-brothers in law, Michael Gowing, and wife, Dannielle, of Valdese, NC and David Gowing, and wife, Tina, of Cleveland, OH; seven nieces, Mackenzie, Cortney, Keyleigh, Meashea, Brianna, Destiny, Harlin; and four nephews, Dakota, Corbin, Sebastian, and Troy, Jr. Amanda was born in Lenoir. She was a graduate of South Caldwell High School and then earned her Associates Degree in Office Systems Technology from Caldwell Community College. She was employed at Foothills Temporary Employment where she indulged in her true love of helping people. Amanda was the protector of her family. Anyone who knew her has a story of the Amanda who stayed with them when they were sick, the Amanda who opened her home to someone in distress, and the Amanda who gave of her own without thought of repayment. Her fierce love and heart as big as the world give us all hope that she will be in heaven waiting for us with gummy bears and a Sundrop.
