Anita Broach

Hudson – Anita Allison Broach died on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 of metastatic breast cancer. She was born on July 30, 1946 to the late Guy Meloy and Clara Eller Allison. On December 26, 1971, she married the love of her life, James Michael Broach, who survives her. Anita was a member of Lower Creek Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and taught an Adult Sunday School Class. She was a past WMU Director and a trustee of the church. She was a graduate of Appalachian State University anda former teacher at Hibriten High School. Anita worked at Caldwell Community College for 25 years, the last 10 of which she was Executive Director of the Foundation. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, David Allison; one sister, Janet Allison; and one nephew, Seth Allison.She is also survived by her son, Jamie Broach and wife, Laura and daughter, Allison Brown and husband, Wesley; grandson, Jacob McCurry; granddaughters, Anna-Kathryn Broach; Kennady Broach; and twins, Kirby Brown and Leryn Brown; Survivors also include three brothers, Doug Allison and Donna of Old Fort; Marion and Kaye Allison of Old Fort; and Alan and Linda Allison of Eagle Lake, Maine; two sisters, Carole Lee Overbay and Larry of Lenoir; and Katie Lynn Allison of Old Fort; sister-in-law, Anne Allison of Old Fort; and sister-in-law, Lynn Laws and Jerrell of Hudson; and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of Anita’s life will be held at Lower Creek Baptist Church on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 11:30 AM with Pastor Larry Gilbreath officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service in the church cemetery.Pallbearers will be Todd Morgan, Brent Morgan, Scot Laws, Mark Laws, Chuck Raby and Chad Raby. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:30 prior to the service.
