She was born in Watauga County on June 28, 1939 to the late Enoch and Josephine Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Miller was preceded in death by her husband, William James Miller; son, Jimmy Miller and her sisters, Edna Henson and Betty Lawrence. She is survived by her daughter, Rena Tackett; brothers, Charlie, Bill, Marion and Dave Church; sisters, Janie Fox; Margie Brown; and Wanda Shelton; grandchildren, April Dye and husband, Patrick; Heather Morris and husband, Aaron; Olivia Cook; great-grandchildren, Aaron, Hailey and Andrew Dye; Emily Coffey; and Alissa Wooten; and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of Mrs. Miller’s life will be held in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at 12:30 PM with Pastor Rector Henson officiating. Interment will be at Blue Ridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 11:00 until 12:30 prior to the service. Evans Funeral Service & Crematory of Lenoir is serving the Miller Family.
