Annetha Gail Harris

Annetha Gail Harris, 79, peacefully passed away on her 62nd wedding anniversary, July 26, 2025.

Annetha was born February 7, 1946, to the late Fred and Carrie Hartley.

In addition to her parents, Annetha is preceded in death by her brother, Granville Hartley.

Those left to cherish Annetha’s memory are her husband of 62 years, Roy William Harris; sons, Ronnie Harris, Wesley Harris (Lisa), Mark Harris, Matthew Harris (Michelle); daughter, Joy Harris; 12 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; brother, John Edward Hartley (Debbie); sisters, Nina Hicks (James), Gladys Keller; many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Annetha served God unconditionally. Annetha was a wonderful loving wife. She was a homemaker and the caretaker of the family. She was the matriarch of the family.

Annetha also reminded everyone that God is always in control, don’t worry about anything because God will work it out. She was a prayer warrior for family and friends.

A service to celebrate Annetha’s life will be held Monday, July 28, 2025 at 4:00 PM in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service with Pastor Allen Raby officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday, July 28, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service. Burial will follow at Wildwood Cemetery, 2110 Ollis Place, Lenoir NC 28645.

Grandchildren, Zane, Kayah, and MeKenzie will be singing to celebrate their grandmother. She always lit up when they would come sing for her.

Serving as pallbearers are Ronnie Harris, Wesley Harris, Matthew Harris, Justin Harris, Hunter Harris, and Micah Crump.

The family respectfully requests in lieu of flowers; donations be made to a favorite charity in memory of Annetha.
