Mr. Pilkenton, 65, of Lenoir passed away on February 3, 2012 at Caldwell County Hospice. He was born on September 10, 1946 in Lenoir to Orville Wright Pilkenton and Eradell Church Pilkenton. Archie graduated from Lenoir High School, served in the National Guard and worked for Bernhardt Furniture and Fairfield Chair. He was transferred to Ontario Canada later moving back to Winston-Salem and then back to Lenoir before he retired. Archie is preceded in death by his brother Dean, his father Orville, his mother Eradell and brother-in-law Dewey Icenhour. Archie is survived by his sister, Sylvia Pilkenton Icenhour, his brother Gary and sister-in-law Mary, sister-in-law Velma Burnley, wife of Dean, nephew Michael Icenhour, niece Jayne Icenhour Stevens, uncle Don Pilkenton and wife Pat, and many cousins from Caldwell, Alexander and Wilkes Counties. Archie, a lover of animals leaves behind his dogs Gracie, Sam, Rita and Rachel. His family will receive friends on Monday, February 6th at Evans Funeral Home, from 1 to 2 pm, followed by a funeral service at the graveside at Blue Ridge Memorial Park. Dr. Chuck Brawley will officiate the service.
