Archie Spears

Lenoir – Mr. Archie Spears, age 84, passed away on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at his residence. He was born in Wilkes County on July 4, 1932 to the late Adolph Spears and Elizabeth Haines Spears. His family will always remember him as a caring and loving father. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Doris Jeanette Spears; brothers, Calloway, Blaine, Lacy, Hill and Ernest Spears; sisters; Mae Bullins and Alice Shoun. Mr. Spears is survived by his son, Robert Spears and wife, Cindy; daughters, Brenda Gray and husband, Murray; Tina Gaskins and husband, Sid; grandchildren, Marsha Gray; Tyler Jolley; Sidney, Lincoln, Rachel and Prairie Gaskins; great-grandson, Ryan Powell; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at East Flat Baptist Church on Friday, July 1, 2016 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Billy Mitchell officiating. Inurnment will immediately follow the service in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 prior to the service.
