Mr. Kelly Asial Barlow passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Lenoir Healthcare after a long period of declining health. Preceded in death by his father, William Guy Barlow, his mother, Leola McDade Barlow and one sister, Betty Jane Crouch. He is survived by his wife, Peggy Pope Barlow, a daughter, Kelly Barlow Hawkins (husband Todd); two sons, Bill Barlow (wife Lana) and Kerry Barlow; four grandsons, Neal Carter, Will Barlow, Kameron Hawkins, Jakob Barlow; two granddaughters, Jenna Barlow and Kylee Hawkins; and two great grandchildren; he is also survived by two lifelong special friends, Betty Jo Setzer and Michael Pittman. Asial graduated from Kings Creek High School where he excelled in athletics.He also served in the US Army and US Army National Guard.He worked in the furniture industry and was retired from AkzoNobel. Asial had a love and enthusiasm for vintage Chevrolet automobiles and spent much of his retirement rebuilding automobiles and Muncie transmissions. A memorial service celebrating Asial’s life will be held on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at 6:00 PM in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service with Pastor Nicky Waters officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the funeral home.
