Bernice Josephine Marcellis

Lenoir, NC- Mrs. Bernice Josephine Marcellis, age 88, of Lenoir, passed away Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at her home. Mrs. Marcellis was born in Wisconsin, October 12, 1923. She was a wonderful homemaker and a successful restaurant operator. Other than her parents and numerous siblings, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Howard Stark. She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Mr. Howard Marcellis; her children; Susanne Goltz, Sharon Gruszynski, Dennis Stark, Deborah Stark; 2 step-sons, Daniel Marcellis, Larry Marcellis; 7 Grandchildren and 4 Step-Grandchildren. A celebration of Mrs. Marcellis’ life will be held 4:00 PM Saturday, October 13, 2012 in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service with Reverend Rick Bowman officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 3:00 until 4:00 PM, one hour prior to the service at Evans Funeral Service. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Food Ministry at Crossroads Community Church.
