Bertha Helton Adams

Hudson, NC- Bertha “Bea” Helton Adams, age 64, of Hudson, passed away Thursday, May 8, 2014 at her home. Born February 28, 1950 in Caldwell County, she was a daughter of the late James Calvin and Nancy Cline Helton. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, John Wesley Adams and his wife Lori Adams along with their daughter, Abigail. A sister, Sherry Helton also preceded her in death. “Bea” had worked for Greer Laboratories for over 7 years. She is survived by 5 children, Joyce Collins and husband David of Lenoir; James Adams of Hudson; Jason Adams and wife Carrie of Setzer’s Creek; Jennifer Braswell of Cajahs Mountain; Juston Adams and wife Andrea of Granite Falls; 2 sisters, Betty Everhardt of Lenoir; Callie Helton of Chesterfield; 3 brothers, Danny Helton of Lenoir; Junior Helton and wife Billie Sue of Lenoir; Eugene Helton and wife Wendy of Raleigh and 7 grandchildren. A Graveside Service will be held at 2:15 PM Saturday in the Hartley Hill Cemetery with Preacher Freddy Stapleton officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at Evans Funeral Service & Crematory. Pallbearers will be: James Adams, Jason Adams, Juston Adams, Danny Helton, Junior Helton and Eugene Helton.
