Betty Jean Phillips

Lenoir, NC- Mrs. Betty Jean Phillips, age 71, of Lenoir, died Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care. Born January 4, 1939 in Caldwell County, Mrs. Phillips was a daughter of the late Marvin and Vada Robertson Smith and the wife of the late Paul Phillips. She was a member of Nazareth Advent Christian Church. Other than her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, James Smith, John Smith and Lennard Shoppe. She is survived by her son, Chris Phillips, fiancé Charity Potter and her children, Karale and Jacob Potter of Lenoir. She is also survived by one brother, Red Smith and one Aunt, Lula Mae Laws, both of Lenoir. The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 30, 2010 from 7:00 until 8:30 PM at Evans Funeral Service & Crematory in Lenoir.
