With profound sadness we announce the passing of Betty R Felts Watson, 75, of Lenoir, North Carolina She passed away on September 11th, 2025. surrounded by her loving family at Mission Hospital in Asheville. She was a loving and devoted mother and a friend to all whose lives she touched.
Betty was born on November 2nd,1949 in Wilkesboro, North Carolina to Ivory and Lillian (Virginia) Felts. She attended Hudson High School; she worked many years in the furniture industry and later retired from Bemis Contract Group.
Betty was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her journey on this earth was marked by love, compassion, and her faith in God. Her passing has left a void in the hearts of the family, friends, and more whose lives she touched. We ask that you remember her in not the way her life ended, but for the way it was lived, and the profound impact it had on lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing her.
She had many hobbies throughout the years. She loved being out-doors, whether she was fishing with her sisters, camping, or sitting and talking about stories from their childhood with her family. She was an avid gardener who had a garden full of flowers every year and had many statues and yard art throughout the flower beds. She loved painting and doing puzzles during the winter months. Her passion during her life was Bingo, she was there every Friday and Saturday nights without fail.
Betty, a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother is survived by her daughters, Cheryl (Thomas) Martin and Angela (William) Campbell; her grandchildren, Casey Poteat, Alex Martin, Zachary Martin, Noah Martin, Lani Martin, and Axle Campbell; her great-grandchild, Logan Poteat, and her sister, Patsy Felts.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Watson; her parents, Ivory and Lillian (Virgina) Felts; and her siblings, Stephen (Steve) Felts, Wanda Hammons, Shirley Spears, and Sylvia Coffey.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025; at 1:30pm. It will be held at Evans Funeral Home, Lenoir, North Carolina. Preacher Andy Watson will be officiating.
