Mrs. Billie Kathryn Craig Kincaid, age 87 of Burlington and formerly of Lenoir, passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at Alamance Regional Medical Center in Burlington.Born April 3, 1928 in Caldwell County, she was a daughter of the late George Edgar and Laura Matilda Setzer Craig and the wife of the late Howard C. Kincaid to whom she had shared 46 years of marriage. Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Wanda Craig Etheredge. Mrs. Kincaid was a 1946 graduate of Lenoir High School.She was the original owner of Kentwood Florist of Lenoir from 1947 until 1985.She also had owned a florist in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.She received her floral training in Charlotte.Mrs. Kincaid also was co-owner of the Chocolate Shop in the Lenoir Mall from 1986 until 1988. She moved to Burlington in 2009.A longtime member of Gamewell United Methodist Church, Mrs. Kincaid was the choir director for 30 years and was active in the Women’s Society of the church. She is survived by her daughter, Ellen Merrill and husband Keith of Mebane and two grandchildren, David Merrill and wife Anna and Nicholas Merrill and wife Rebecca all of Burlington.She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and other relatives. A Graveside Service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Friday, October 9, 2015 at Blue Ridge Memorial Park with Reverend John Yeager and Reverend Rene’ Easter officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 7:00 until 8:30 at Evans Funeral Service.
