Boyd Kent Whisnant

Boyd Kent Whisnant, age 80, of Lenoir North Carolina passed away on July 2, 2021 at his residence in Lenoir. Boyd was born October 10, 1940 to the late Gordon Whisnant and Ercell Barnes. Those left to cherish his memory are his sons; Rick Whisnant (wife Penny), David Whisnant (wife Angie), Tommy Whisnant; daughter, Becky Brown (husband Nolan); grandchildren, Carrie Starnes, Lindsey Lail, Chase Whisnant, Chelsea Koscheski, Kristi Tart, Shane Brown, Jazmine Pena, Tiffany Bozor, Chaydyn Whisnant, Skylar Whisnant, and Bryson Whisnant; and 9 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Gilbert Whisnant; brothers, Gene Whisnant and Ray Whisnant; grandson, Joshua Whisnant; and great granddaughter, Bailey Tart. Boyd enjoyed attending church and socializing with his friends and family. He loved to fish and be outdoors. A 10:00 AM memorial service will be held at Evans Funeral Service in the chapel on Monday, July 5, 2021 with Rev. David Allen Day and Rev. Bill Bentley officiating. Prior to the service the family will receive friends from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
