Callie Knight Brown, 94, of Lenoir passed away on Sunday, August 1, 2021 at Shaire Center. She was born in Caldwell County on August 24, 1926 to the late David and Lelia Knight. She was married to the late John “Shaver” Brown for 68 years. Callie began her working career at the Pentagon in Washington DC for two years; and returned to Lenoir and was employed at Caldwell Glass Company for over 60 years. She was a devoted mother and wife who loved her children, who were the light of her life. She was a member of Whitnel Methodist Church. In addition to her parents and husband, Callie is preceded in death by her daughter, Jonnie Stallings. She is, also, preceded in death by her brothers, Bill and Jay Knight and her sisters, Leola Pipes and Betty Spengler. Callie is survived by her daughters: Tyra Edwards; Alisa Burns and husband Jim; and Callie Greene. She is survived by her grandchildren: Adrian Stallings and fiancée, Dr. Mark Batts; Kristen Blankenship and husband David; Joshua Burns; Caleb Burns; and Callie Nicole Brown. She leaves behind her great-grandchildren: Jon Hartley, Kyle Hartley and fiancé Faith; Nathan, Isabelle, and Kenzie Blankenship. She is survived by her great-great-grandchildren: Kolson and Leia Mae Hartley. Callie is survived by her sisters: Doris Van Dyke and husband Buddy and Shirley Craig and husband Dennis. There will be a celebration of Callie’s life held in the chapel of Evans Funeral Service on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at 3:00 pm. There will be a visitation held at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow immediately after the service at Collier’s Methodist Church Cemetery.
