Carl Franklin Thompson

Carl Franklin Thompson, 65, passed away on Friday, September 11, 2026.

Carl was born on July 8, 1961, to the late Tommy and Betty Thompson.

In addition to his parents, Carl is preceded in death by his wife, Donna Thompson; brothers, Roby Thompson, and Randy Miller.

Those left to cherish Carl’s memory are his daughters, Melissa Thompson, Amy Thompson, Jennifer Thompson, step-sons, Larry Reid II, Randy Reid; grandchildren, Lilana Lopez, Julian Thompson, Kristina Thompson, Tyler Thompson, Alydiah Thompson, Kristofer McGill, Daiven Thompson, Emryn Thompson, Kiana (Lilly) Thompson, Larry Reid III, Jaxon Reid; great grandchildren, Mateo Lopez Torres and Brookelynn Lopez Torres; brothers, Tom Miller, Clifton Thompson and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Carl was a devoted truck driver. He was jokester and loved to make people laugh. Carl loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A service to honor Carl’s life will be held on Friday, September 18, 2026, in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service at 1:00 PM. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service.  Burial to follow at Celia Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, 4778 Celia Creek Road, Lenoir, NC 28645.
