Carolyn James Boyle, age 81, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at Frye Regional Medical Center. She was born in Caldwell County on January 17, 1944, to the late Robert Edward James and Almeda Haynes James.

Carolyn spent her entire working career in retail, retiring from Family Dollar in Lenoir, where she enjoyed the customers. She was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Boyle; her infant brother, Gerald Wayne James; and nephew, Jeffery James.

She is survived by her brothers, Bobby James and wife, Adene; Gary James and wife, Gail; nieces; Beth Isaacs (Mike), Loree Hodge (Tim); nephews, Michael James, Eric James (Lori), Edwin James, 10 great nieces and nephews, 6 great great nieces and nephews, 1 special friend and great great niece, Kaylee Bowman.

A celebration of Carolyn’s life will be held in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at 3:00 PM with Pastor Eric James, Pastor Tim Hodge and Pastor Alan Carr officiating. Burial will immediately follow the service at Blue Ridge Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 prior to the service.
