Charles Russell Cook

Charles Russell Cook passed away on November 5, 2026. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Irene Presnell Cook; his daughters, Diane Cook, Denise Manus, and Della Cook; and his son, Doug Cook (Tamara). He is also survived by six grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. He is survived also by his sister, Marjetta Timm. 

He was preceded in death by his father, George Cook; his mother, Annis Matney Cook; his sister, Kathleen Cook Miller; his brothers, Howard Cook and Wayne Cook; his daughter, Debbie Cook Parris; and his grandson, Dennis Parris.

Charles proudly served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Kearsarge for four years. He also faithfully served as the pastor of Trinity Baptist Church for 43 years.

The family would like to thank the VA Hospital in Asheville and Amorem Hospice in Lenoir for their treatment, compassion, and excellent care of Charles.

A service to honor Charles' life will be held on Sunday, November 8, at Trinity Baptist Church, located at 114 Mulberry St. NW, Lenoir, NC 28645. Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM, with the funeral service following at 2:00 PM.
