Charles Edwin Isaacs was a man with the kind of patience people pray for their entire lives. He was gentle, quiet, and kind. He never needed to raise his voice to be heard, and he never needed recognition for the things he did for others. He was a man who spent his life loving his family, working hard, and finding happiness in the simplest things.
Above everything else, Charles loved his family. His wife, his children, his grandchildren, and his great-grandchildren were his entire world. To his grandchildren, he was Pa, but that name belonged to far more than just his grandchildren. He was Pa to everyone. He loved his family unconditionally, with a patience and understanding that never seemed to run out. He was the kind of husband, father, and grandfather that every family deserves, and his family knew just how fortunate they were to have him.
Charles loved to read. He could spend hours with a book, always learning something new. He also loved being outside, working in his yard, and keeping everything around his home clean and cared for. He took pride in his work, in his home, and most of all, in the family he had built.
He proudly served in the United States Air Force. He went on to spend 45 years working in telecommunications, including 20 years working alongside his beloved wife, Aleta. Together, they traveled many miles across the country, building a lifetime of memories and making friendships that would last throughout their lives. No matter how far their travels took them, family was always where his heart belonged.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Zollie Crawford Isaacs and Elsie Isaacs; his brother, Ritter Dean; his sister, Mildred Weston; and his brother-in-law, Ted Weston.
He is survived by his loving wife, Aleta; his son, Michael Isaacs, and daughter, Michele Murphy; his brother, Glenn Isaacs (Carol); his grandchildren, Tanner Isaacs (Ella), Noah Isaacs, Megan Herman, Abigail Greenway, Brian Greenway (Kate), and Emily Greenway; and his great-grandchildren, Lily Herman, Kaiden Greenway, and Murphy Greenway, with two more great-grandsons on the way.
He is also survived by his nieces and nephews and their families, Scott Weston (Tracy), Jason Isaacs (Kim), Wendy Boling (Chuck), Heather Grubb (Jeff), Kevin Keene, Carmen Stinson (Ryan), and Ashley Murphy (Jason), along with many extended family members and friends who loved him dearly.
There are some people who spend their entire lives showing others what it means to be a good person, without ever realizing just how much they are teaching the people around them. Charles was one of those people.
He was a man who listened more than he spoke, who gave more than he ever asked for, and whose love never came with conditions. His family will remember the hours he spent reading, the care he put into his yard, the miles he traveled with Aleta, and all the little things that made him who he was.
But more than anything, they will remember how he loved them.
Charles was loved beyond measure, and he will be missed for the rest of their lives. There will never be another man quite like him, and those who were fortunate enough to be loved by him will spend the rest of their lives grateful that they were.
