Charles H. Thomas, Jr.

Charles H. Thomas Jr., age 82, of Lenoir, North Carolina went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, December 6th.

Charles was born in Washington, NC on October 1, 1943, to the late Charles Hubert Thomas Sr. and Edna Smith Thomas. As a young child, his family moved to Lenoir where he made his home.

Charles graduated from N.C. State University and then attended graduate school at East Carolina University. He enjoyed an extensive career in the furniture industry in manufacturing and in retail. Charles served on the board of directors for the Baptist Children’s Homes of NC. He also served on the board of the Foothills Regional Airport Authority.

Charles was a member of First Baptist Church Lenoir. He cared deeply for his church and family.

Charles is survived by his wife of 47 years Teresa Watson Thomas, his son Charles Hubert Thomas III and his wife Amy, grandchildren Reagan, Lillian, and Charles Hubert Thomas IV (Hudson), sister Patsy Norris (Robert), and brother Thomas (Shirley).

The family will receive friends at First Baptist Church Lenoir on Friday December 12, 2025, from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM. A service will follow at 2:00 PM. Burial will take place at Blue Ridge Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Lenoir’s music fund.
