Clifton Ben Salley, 60, passed away after a brave battle with cancer on December 20, 2021 at his home. Ben was born to the late Clifton and Louise Salley on November 20, 1961 in Caldwell County. Ben was married to Muriel Echard-Salley for 18 years. Ben was a graduate of Hibriten High School. He spent his career working for Broyhill Furniture Industries, catering and feeding the community. He was an avid fan of the Carolina Tar Heels, Dallas Cowboys, Hibriten High School Panthers, and a variety of other sports. Ben was known to be the backbone of his family, whom he loved dearly. In addition to his beloved wife, those left to cherish his memory includes his three daughters: Qiana (Nikki) and husband David Michaux Jr of Raleigh, NC, Alexandria Bulla of Lenoir, NC and Ya-Londa Bulla of High Point, NC. Ben is survived by his siblings: Robert Jones of Burke County, Delphine (Sue) Salley of Lenoir, Karen Patterson of Lenoir, Michael Salley of Lenoir also his best friend as a brother Tommy Pennell of Lenoir. Ben leaves behind six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He is survived by a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and many friends. The family will welcome friends at the home of his sister Karen Patterson. There will be a service held at the chapel of Evans Funeral Service on Monday, December 27, 2021 at 3:00 pm. The family will receive friends prior to the service at 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm. Interment will take place at Blue Ridge Memorial Park following the service.
