Dallas Horton

Dallas Horton Lenoir – Mrs. Dallas Colbert Horton, age 101, departed this life January 29, 2015 at Gateway Health Care in Lenoir. Mrs. Horton was born August 23, 1913 in Caldwell County to Milon Rufus and Della Mae Ferguson Colbert. She was a faithful member of Harper Chapel in Lenoir. Mrs. Horton was preceded in death by her husband Clyde Horton; four brothers, Rubin Colbert, Thomas Colbert, Fred Colbert, William Colbert; four sisters, Verna Colbert, Levada Colbert, Jessie Colbert and Bell Colbert. She is survived by two sons, Thomas Colbert and wife, Alice Colbert of Virginia, Jerry and Maxine Horton of Wilkesboro, one sister, Annie Lou Colbert White of Morganton; and a host of nephews, nieces and other relatives and friends. A celebration of Mrs. Horton’s life will be held in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service on Monday, February 2, 2015 at 12:00 Noon with Reverend Charlie Rivens officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service at Grandin Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Geoter Powell, Curtis Banner, Kim Perkins, Billy Powell, Robert Powell, and Garry Dula. Honorary pallbearer will be Fritz Reid. The flower ladies will be the Harper Chapel Women. The family will receive friends from 11:00 until 12:00 prior to the service.
