Danny Glenn Hendrix, age 68, of Lenoir, passed away on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at his home. He was born on November 6, 1956, in Caldwell County to the late Glenn Hendrix and Dorothy Dillard Hendrix of Lenoir.
Danny lived a simple life. He previously worked at Sealed Air and later at AVI. He loved to fish and was a devoted fan of the Washington Redskins. Danny was a people person who loved to talk and never met a stranger. He always had a story to tell and a smile on his face.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his sister, Theresa Hendrix; two brothers, Roger Hendrix and John Hendrix; and a stepson, Daniel.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, include one daughter, Angie Coffey; four sons, Shannon Coffey (April), Danny Hendrix (Holly), and Chad Hendrix (Erin), all of Lenoir, and Brad Hendrix (Jennifer) of Gladys, VA; and two stepdaughters, Tabatha and Julie.
Grandchildren include Chasidy, Dylan, and Emma Coffey; Danielle, Isaiah, Iseral, Natalie, and Liam Hendrix, all of Lenoir; Caleb Hendrix (Holia) of Madison Heights, VA; and Kaylee Yoder (Craig) of Hurt, VA. He is also survived by two great-grandchildren, Gabriel and Laikelynn Bryant, as well as several step-grandchildren. Also surviving are one brother, Rickey Hendrix (Ann) of Lenoir, and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 6, 2025 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service. A graveside service will follow at Laytown Baptist Church Cemetery, 6337 Laytown Road, Lenoir, NC 28645. Pastors Brent Dula and Brian Dula will be officiating the graveside service.
