Deborah Baird Watson

Mrs. Deborah Kathryn Baird Watson, age 68, of Lenoir, passed away Thursday, December 11, 2014 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care in Lenoir. Born June 24, 1946 in Watauga County, Mrs. Watson was a daughter of the late Benjamin Baxter and Nora Dean Hayes Baird and the wife of Morris D. Watson of the home. Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, William R. Baird.

 Mrs. Watson was a homemaker and seamstress. She enjoyed nature, feeding birds, deer and any other wildlife that came around. She loved Birds and Blooms a magazine that brought her much joy. She will be known as a wonderful caregiver to both her parents and her brother. Other than her husband, Morris; she is survived by her two daughters, Ginger Coffey and husband Jeff of Lenoir; Wendy McGhinnis of Lenoir; her grandson, Philip Marc Colvard and fiancé, Jaylin of Lenoir, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. A celebration of Deborah’s life will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, December 14, 2014, in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service with Reverend John Jernigan and Reverend Sherrill Wellborn officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 2:00 until 3:00 PM, one hour prior to the service.
