Lenoir- Mrs. Dorothy Hendrix Church, age 75, fell asleep in the Lord on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born in Wilkes County on June 5, 1940 to the late Albert Hendrix and Ina Minton Hendrix. Mrs. Church is survived by her husband of 55 years, Dwain Church. Mrs. Church was a member of Yadkin Baptist Church for most of her life. She enjoyed cooking and bluegrass music. She loved her family and especially spending time with her grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Hodges and husband, Mike; her brothers and sisters, Cleo Hendrix and wife Helen; Reba Earp; Joann Church and husband, George; Charlie Hendrix and wife, Sharon; Junior Hendrix and wife, Joan; James Hendrix and wife, Connie; Donna Thomas; grandchildren, Chase Hodges; Lacey Hodges Triplett; Elisabeth Hodges; Brooks Hodges; great-grandchild, Taylor Hodges; and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of Mrs. Church’s life will be held at Yadkin Baptist Church on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at 12:00 Noon with Pastor Stuart White and Pastor Jim Lee officiating. Burial will immediately follow the service in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tim Hendrix, Darrell Hendrix, Ronnie Hendrix, Keith Church, Daryel Church and Jason Church.
