Dorothy Greer

Lenoir– Mrs. Dorothy Sanders Greer, age 89, of Lenoir, passed away Friday, October 9, 2015 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care in Lenoir.Born January 13, 1926 in Caldwell County, she was a daughter of the late Sam and Mary Elizabeth Norris Sanders and the wife of the late Ray Von Greer. Mrs. Greer was of the Baptist faith.She enjoyed basket weaving and was a loving mother and caregiver to her youngest child, Marty. Other than her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Levinthia Glasco and eight brothers, Ivey, Ralph, Willard, Tommy, Lee, Onnie, Banner and Hoover Sanders. She is survived by five children, Dennis Greer and wife Linda; Sheila Clarke and husband Eddie; Reggie Greer and wife Sonja; Sandra Groome and Marty Greer, all of Lenoir; six grandchildren, Jimmy McAteer, Buddy Greer, Jill Andrews, Ryan Clarke, Logan Wakefield, Sara Wakefield; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. A private service will be held by the family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care, 902 Kirkwood Street, Lenoir, NC 28645.
