Dorothy Mae Beane Miller

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dorothy Mae Beane Miller on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at the age of 94.

She was born on February 7, 1932 to the late Thomas and Minnie Smith Beane.

In addition to her parents, Dorothy is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dale Calvin Miller; her brothers, Ted, Roy, Jay, John, and her twin brother Paul; and her sisters, Ola Stine, Lucy McCall, Emma Lee McCall, and Mildred Bradshaw.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving son, Kevin (Lisa) Miller, daughter, Donna Miller, numerous loved nieces, nephews, and friends.

Dorothy, known for her warmth and kindness, leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. She loved bringing joy to those around her. Her bright smile was a constant source of happiness. She was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church, where she joyfully served the Lord. Dorothy had a passion for cooking and caring for others. She found immense pleasure in nurturing those around her.

A service to celebrate Dorothy’s life will be held on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at 12:00 PM, with Pastor Sam Craven officiating, at Union Grove Baptist Church. The family will receive friends an hour before the service, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Following the service, Dorothy will be laid to rest at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Lenoir, NC. The family invites all who knew and loved Dorothy to join them in honoring her remarkable life and the indelible mark she left on the world.
