Edith Christine Dula

Lenoir, NC- Mrs. Edith Christine Jones Dula, age 95, of Lenoir passed away on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at Caldwell Hospice in Lenoir. Born February 17, 1922 in Catawba County, Edith was a daughter of the late Rosalie and Mattie Shuford Jones.She was a member of Dulatown Presbyterian Church where she sang in the choir, was a deaconess, and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.Edith was a furniture worker and retired from Bernhardt.She worked at Belk for many years.In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Walter McKinley Dula; three sons, Alvin Louis Dula, Sr., Walter Douglas Dula and Tyrone Dula; a grandson, Alvin Louis Dula, Jr.; and a granddaughter, Marcella Paulette Dula. Survivors include her son, Elmer Dula (wife Anita); a sister, Doris Adams; she is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and numerous other relatives. A celebration of Edith’s life will be held on Monday, October 16, 2017 at 1:00 PM at the Dulatown Presbyterian Church with Reverend Harold Bennett officiating.
