Edward George Kellner passed away early on Saturday, June 20, 2026.
He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Denise Kellner; his daughters, Ebby Kellner Milnes, Tara Hering, Shannon Hering, and Erin Fennell; and his grandsons, Thomas Edward Milnes and Emmyt Charles Milnes.
Edward was born on March 8, 1952, in Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania, and later moved to Belvidere, New Jersey. During high school, he was active in many organizations and activities, including the football team, wrestling team, Varsity Club, Chess Club, Biology Club, bowling club, yoga club, and the senior class play. He was also well known as the class clown.
He attended Simpson College in Iowa on a wrestling scholarship.
Edward had a lifelong passion for motocross and enduro racing. He also loved landscaping and, at one time, owned and operated his own landscaping business. You could often find him with a pair of trimmers or pruners in hand, mowing the lawn, or spending hours on his tractor.
He attended farrier school in Martinsville, Virginia, and Versailles, Kentucky, where he became an expert blacksmith and farrier. Both horses and their owners loved him. He was known for his warm smile, quick wit, and all-around charm. Edward built a successful farrier business in Sterling, Pennsylvania.
In 2015, Edward and Denise retired to North Carolina, which became their permanent home.
Edward will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
