Elaine Cathy Brooks

Elaine Cathy Brooks, 78, of Lenoir, NC, went home to be with Jesus on Wednesday, December 24, 2025. Born on August 12, 1947, in Lenoir, NC, Elaine was the cherished daughter of the late George Finley and Nellie Mae Teague.

Elaine was preceded in death by her loving husband, Allie Brooks, and her beloved daughter, Susan Renee Jones. She is also reunited with numerous other cherished family members.

Left to carry on her legacy are her son, Jerry Alden Teague, and his wife Sandra; her grandchildren, Jerry Robert Sanders, Brandon Lee Teague, Cody Allen Teague, and Brittney Lachelle Teague, along with her husband Christopher. Elaine was the proud great-grandmother to 11 great-grandchildren. Her life was enriched by the enduring friendship of her cousin Linda Campbell, and dear friends Shirley McKinney, Mary Bellinger; school mate and friend, Frank Coffey. She also leaves behind a multitude of other loved family members and friends.

She was a loving mother and a devoted prayer warrior. She found joy in knitting, canning beans, and watching Hallmark and western shows. Known for her genuine love for people, Elaine never met a stranger. Above all else, she cherished her faith and her church family deeply.

To honor Elaine's memory, her family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Grandview Park Baptist Church.

A memorial service celebrating Elaine's life will be held on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Grandview Park Baptist Church, located at 2539 Grandview Circle, Lenoir, NC. Pastor Raymond Spann will officiate the service.
