Ervine Otis Minton

Lenoir – Ervine Otis Minton, age 73, passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at Caldwell Hospice & Palliative Care. He was born in Caldwell County on December 9, 1943 to the late Freeman Otis Minton and Rachel Cardwell Minton. He spent most of working career in textiles before retiring. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Evine Minton and his sister, Evelyn Minton Huffman. He is survived by his brother, Albert Minton of Lincolnton; niece, Elizabeth Hicks of Lenoir; nephews, Timmy Minton of Valdese; Lee Carpenter of Granite Falls; Freeman Carpenter of Morganton; Eric Carpenter of Lenoir and Ralph Dishman of Boone; and numerous other family members. The family will receive friends from 11:00 until 12:00 prior to the service. A graveside service for Mr. Minton will be held at Laurel Haven Cemetery on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 12:00 PM.
