Ethel Haas Arney

Hudson – Mrs. Ethel Haas Arney, age 87, of Hudson passed away on Thursday, August 17, 2017 at Caldwell Hospice in Hudson. Born October 4, 1929 in Caldwell County, Ethel was a daughter of the late John and Viola Miller Haas.She was a lifelong member of Poovey’s Chapel Baptist Church.Ethel and her husband were retired from Electrolux vacuum cleaner sales and service.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Clarence E. Arney; siblings, Parks Haas, Ruth Havnaer, Eunice Squires and Virgie Myers. She was the loving mother of two daughters, Teressa Taylor and Joy Brooks (husband Greg); and grandmother of Alicia Soldat (husband Jacob), James Taylor II, Sara Taylor; she is also survived by a brother, Edgar Haas of Hudson and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of Ethel’s life will be held on Sunday, August 20, 2017 at 4:00 PM at Poovey’s Chapel Baptist Church with Pastor Nicky Waters and Pastor Mark Dula officiating.Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM prior to the service at the church.
