Eulene Laws

Lenoir – Mrs. Milby Eulene Miller Laws, age 88, of Lenoir, passed away Sunday, April 17, 2016 at Shaire Center of Lenoir. Born April 7, 1928 in Caldwell County, she was a daughter of the late Larkin Isaac and Easter Louisa Hamby Miller and the wife of the late Joseph Levi Laws. Other than her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Sammie Edmisten. Mrs. Laws had worked for Broyhill Veneer. She later retired to care for her mother during her illness. She was a member of Yadkin Baptist Church where she had served as church organist for 65 years and was honored with as service recognition in 2010. She was a devoted member spending countless hours in preparation of services. She worked side by side with her mother to cook and bake wonderful meals and sang in a quartet with her father, brother and husband for many years. She is survived by her son, Barry Laws and wife Leslie and her son Alex; her daughter, Teresa Edmisten and her children, Shari Edmisten and Sam Edmisten. She is also survived by her brother, Herb Miller and wife Mary; great-granddaughters, Ashlin and Kenzie Edmisten, Clare, Tess and Samantha Crabtree and a great-great grandson, Sam Clawson. Several nieces, nephews and other relatives are also surviving. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Wednesday at Yadkin Baptist Church with Reverend Stuart White and Reverend Jim Hamby officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM, one hour prior to the service. The family would like to thank the staff of Shaire Center Retirement for the excellent care given to their mother.
