Evelyn Susie "Sue" Earp, aged 79, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, April 8, 2026. Born September 29, 1946, in North Carolina, Sue spent her final years in Wilkesboro, NC, enveloped in the love of her family and community.
Daughter of the late Cornelius Roosevelt Watson and Roxie Anne Carroll Watson of Watauga County, Sue was well-known for her fierce love of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her passion for Christmas and lighthouses brought joy and warmth to those around her. A dedicated career in textiles, Sue retired after a fulfilling career, which was followed by years devoted to caring for her husband, Kenneth Earp, until his passing.
Sue's life was marked by her compassionate spirit and contagious laughter. She had an incredible knack for making friends out of strangers and was always ready to lend a helping hand. Her nearly 50-year marriage to Kenneth was a testament to her unwavering commitment to love and family, as evidenced by the cherished memories of family beach vacations.
Her legacy lives on through her children; Ricky Earp and wife Lisa, Robert Earp and wife Brenda, Ronnie Earp and wife Peggy, and Roxanna Earp. Her grandchildren, Victoria Earp, Jennifer Woods, Josh Earp, Katelyn Saunders, Preston Triplett, and Caleb Triplett, along with great-grandchildren; Caden, Vivian, Carter, and Octavia, will forever hold Sue’s memory dear. She is also survived by her sister, Martha Gantt, and brothers, C.R. Watson and Teddy Watson.
Preceded in death by her beloved husband Kenneth and many siblings, Sue's departure has left an unfillable void in the lives of those who knew and loved her.
A graveside service to honor Sue’s life will be held on Friday, April 10, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Laurel Haven Cemetery. Arrangements are provided by Evans Funeral Service & Crematory.
Her love, laughter, and generosity have left a lasting impact, and she will be dearly missed until we meet again.
