Hudson– Faye Wilcox, age 86, of Hudson, passed away peacefully at her residence Thursday, November 5, 2015.She was born on October 24, 1929 in Ashe County to the late Samuel and Mattie Ray Wilcox.Mrs. Wilcox was a member of Whitnel Pentecostal Holiness Church and had owned and operated a daycare center. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her daughter Susie Wilcox Shoemaker and two sisters Jean Wilcox and Evon Trivette and also two brothers Lester Wilcox and Grant Wilcox. She is survived by her husband, Grady Wilcox of the home;two daughters Jo Ann Cornett and husband Bruce of Hudson, and Mary Wilcox Miller of Pigeon Forge, TN; three brothers John Wilcox of Hudson, Eller Wilcox and wife Joann of Lenoir, and Bobby Wilcox of Wilkesboro; grandchildren, Crystal Burch and husband Robert of Hudson; Tim Cornett and wife Teresa of Lenoir; Amber Brown and husband Greg of Pigeon Forge;Toby Miller and wife Tiffany of Pigeon Forge; Matthew Shoemakerand wife Clarissa of Lenoir; Michelle Shoemaker of Lenoir; and Amanda Ellis of Lenoir; great-grandchildren, Alex Burch, Caroline Burch, Trenton Cornett, Kirsten Ellis, Zackary Ellis, Lindsay Miller, Laney Miller, and Lucas Miller; She also had several nieces and nephews and a special caregiver Elizabeth. Heaven gained a prayer warrior when Faye went to meet her Lord and Savior in heaven Thursday at 11:15.She passed away with her loving family and precious friends at her side.As she passed her favorite song Beulah Land was being sung by a precious friend in the Lord.The joy of the Lord was felt all around us and the presence of the Lord was so real.Her passing could not have been scripted any better by herself. The Wilcox Family will receive friends on Saturday, November 7, 2015 from 6:00 until 7:00 PM at Whitnel Pentecostal Holiness Church with a Celebration of Mrs. Wilcox’s life to follow at 7:00 PM. A Graveside Service will be conducted on Sunday, November 8, 2015 at 3:00 PM at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens with Pastor Keith Gilliam officiating.
