Floyd "Lance" Carter

Floyd “Lance” Carter passed peacefully at home on Wednesday, May 27, 2026.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 63 years, Barbara “Bobbie” Carter; sons, Danny Carter (Ann) and Mark Carter (Sebrina); grandchildren, Alicia (Josh), Hallie (Logan), Alex (Carly), and Brianna; great-grandchildren, Kylen, Harrison, Hartley Ann, Granger, Bryson, Ella, Sawyer, and Waylon; and sister, Joyce Brawley.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Swanson and Violet Carter, and his brother, Dean Carter.

Lance was well known in the community for his HVAC work, having successfully started his own HVAC business in 1959. He loved the lake, waterskiing, and spending time with his family. He especially cherished his 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air and enjoyed showing it off at local parades and car shows. He was a proud member of the Hibriten Masonic Lodge. Lance also enjoyed singing and karaoke with friends and family.

Lance was a veteran of the United States Army and the Army National Guard, and his family is deeply thankful for his service to our country.

He loved decorating for Christmas, and many people visited his home each year to admire the displays he put up during the holiday season.

Lance was a loving husband, father, Pawpaw, and friend to many, and he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

A visitation service to honor Lance’s life will be held on Monday, June 1, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Evans Funeral Service.
