Hudson- William Floyd Waters, age 84, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at his residence. He was born in Caldwell County on March 31,1936 to the late Lawrence William Waters and Martha Self Waters. He was married for 60 years to Mary Melton Waters of the home. Floyd was a veteran of the United States Army. He was an active member of Poovey’s Chapel Baptist Church and he loved telling people about Jesus.He was a loving husband, dedicated father and wonderful grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a friend to everyone and will be remembered for his sense of humor. Floyd made his preparations to go to Heaven in May of 1968 by trusting Jesus. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Gina W. Craig and husband, Jerry; son, Nicky Waters and wife, Traci; grandchildren, Jacob Craig and wife, Magaly; Taylor Bolick and husband, Chris; Isaac Waters; Adrik Waters; and Hope Craig; great-grandchildren, William Craig and Addison Bolick; brother, Gary Lawrence Waters and wife Portia; and sister, Norma W. Wilson; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members. A celebration of Floyd’s life will be held at Poovey’s Chapel Baptist Church on Saturday, September 12, 2020 at 11:00 AM with his son, Pastor Nicky Waters officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service at Blue Ridge Memorial Park.
