Coy Eugene "Gene" Bradshaw, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 22, 2026, at the age of 82. Born on January 25, 1944, in Burke County, North Carolina. Gene was the beloved son of the late Coy and Ethel Carroll Bradshaw.
Gene graduated from Drexel High School. He dedicated over 40 years to the furniture industry, where he honed his craft as a skilled cloth cutter in upholstery. His passion for farming, gardening and riding horses filled his days with joy and tranquility. Above all, Gene will be remembered as a devoted husband and father whose love for his family was unwavering.
He was preceded in death by his cherished wife, Katie Clark Bradshaw; his son, Frankie Welch; and his brothers, Boyce, Roy, and Wayne Bradshaw.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Roger Bradshaw, Katrine Vivona, and Tommy Welch along with his wife, April. Gene was also a proud grandfather to Kaitlyn Bradshaw, Jessica, Andrew, and Christopher Vivona, and Thomas Welch II, alongside his wife, Kerbey. His legacy continues through nine great-grandchildren and an extended network of loving family members. Gene is also survived by his brother, Kenneth Bradshaw.
A celebration of Gene's life will take place on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at 11:00 AM at North Catawba Baptist Church. Following the service, Gene will be laid to rest in the church cemetery, where family and friends will gather to honor his life and legacy.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Evans Funeral Service & Crematory. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Gene's memory to a charity of your choice. Gene's kind spirit and love will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
