Gene Price

Mr. Gene Thomas Price, age 67, of Lenoir passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at Caldwell Memorial Hospital.

Born June 10, 1955 in Caldwell County, Gene was a son of the late Jeff and Lulabelle Watson Price.  Gene was self employed as a mechanic for many years.  He had a love of flying.  He had a pilot’s license and enjoyed flying ultra light planes.  He was a member of Tabernacle Advent Christian Church.  What he enjoyed most was attending his grandson’s wrestling matches.  He was their biggest fan and never missed a match.  Gene was a heart recipient in 2000 and received a second chance at life.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Randy Price; a nephew, David Price.

Survivors include his daughter, Brandy Lovatto (husband Ian); his grandsons, Evan and Logan Lovatto; special nieces, Lyllian and Mya Martin; a brother, Wayne Price (wife Wanda); his ex-wife and special friend, Sandra Price; his niece, Jennifer Setzer (husband Gary); a great nephew, Dalton Kaylor (wife Ashley); a great niece, Jillian Oxford (husband Chad).

A memorial service celebrating Gene’s life will be held on Sunday, January 22, 2023 at 3:00 PM at the Tabernacle Advent Christian Church with Pastor Frank Hall and Pastor Gary Griffith officiating.

The family will receive friends prior to the service at the church from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
