Gerald Douglas Haigler

Gerald “Jerry” Douglas Haigler, age 78, passed away on Sunday, July 11, 2021 at his residence. He was born in Caldwell County on November 19, 1942 to the late John P. Haigler and Carrie Beach Haigler. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and retired from Wilkie Construction. When he was well he could do most anything from mechanical to construction. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Trina Cloer Haigler; son, Gerald Douglas Haigler, Jr.; infant daughter, Kimberly M. Haigler; and sisters, Judy Anderson, Ina Livingston, Vicki Haigler, Agnes Kidd and Vergie Kidd. Jerry is survived by his brother, Roy Haigler; sisters, Shirley Taylor; Eula McFalls and husband, Thomas; Susie Powell and husband, Randy; brother-in-law, George Cloer; and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service celebrating Jerry’s life will be held at Blue Ridge Memorial Park on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at 3:00 PM with Pastor Steve Parker officiating. Military honors will be provided by the United States Navy.
