Gerlyinn Farley

December 9, 1957 — May 16, 2025

Gerlyinn Farley, age 67, passed away unexpectedly on May 16, 2025. She was born December 9, 1957 in Grundy, VA. She was preceded in death by her parents Lewis Jr and Lassie Farley, 3 brothers, 1 sister, a grandson Zachary Benfield and great grandson Tyler Griggs.

Those left to cherish her memory are 2 daughters, Wilma Oxford and Rachel Sanders, son in law Randy Sanders, grandson Joshua Benfield, Matthew and Mindy Griggs, Austin and Layla Paris, and Anthony Arrowood. Gerlyinn was also a great grandmother to Heidi Joyner and a soon to be great grandson Theodore Griggs, sister Tammy Shook, brother PJ Farley and her beloved dog Sassy.

She was a loving, caring mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She was kind, giving and never met a stranger. It gives her loved ones peace knowing she is not in pain and with our Lord rejoicing with her family.

A celebration of Gerlyinn’s life will be at the Chapel of Evans on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, beginning at 2:00PM. A receiving of friends will be from 1:00PM to 2:00PM.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Humane Society.

Evans Funeral Service is honored to serve the Farley family.
