Pete Eavenson

Harold Richard “Pete” Eavenson, age 83, went home to be with his heavenly Father, where he will no longer be in pain, on Monday, June 16, 2025 at his residence. He was born in Harrison County, WV on June 15, 1942 to the late Harold Eavenson and Ruth Gowers Eavenson. He was married to Janice Eavenson of the residence for 61 years.

Pete was a veteran of the United States Navy and later retired from BellSouth after 30 years of service. He was an active member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Pete will be remembered as a faithful loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting and fishing and occasionally took Jan with him. His faith in God, along with his love for those closest to him, led him to be and always remain the rock of his family.

In addition to his wife, Pete is survived by his daughter, Pamela Setzer and husband, Robin; son, Brad Eavenson and wife, Cheryl; grandson, Brandon Harris; granddaughter, Sarah Leon and husband, Eric; great-grandsons, Bryan Harris and Evan Leon.

A memorial celebration of Pete’s life will be held at Mt. Zion Baptist Church on Sunday, June 29, 2025 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Ed Ford and Pastor Zach Kennedy officiating. Military honors will be provided by the United States Navy.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Mt. Zion Baptist Church Food Pantry.
