Helen Elizabeth Shoemake

Helen Shoemake, 82, passed away on Friday, September 4, 2026, at The Foley Center at Chestnut Ridge in Blowing Rock.

Helen was born on January 7, 1944, to the late Leonard and Beulah Coffey.

Those left to cherish Helen’s memory are her husband of 59 years, Robert Shoemake; brother, Clayton Coffey (Barbara); and numerous loved nieces, nephews and friends.

Helen and Robert enjoyed traveling and attending gospel singings together.

A service to honor Helen’s life will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service at 2:30 PM with Pastor Keith Phelps officiating. The family will be available from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM to receive family and friends in the Chapel of Evans. Burial will follow at the Blue Ridge Memorial Park in Lenoir, NC.
