Herman Bishop

June 30, 1940 — February 9, 2021

The passing of the best Dental Technician in Caldwell County, Charles Herman Bishop, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on February 9, 2021 at 12:30 AM. He fought a strong battle of Sarcoma Stomach Cancer. Mr. Bishop was born in Buncombe County, Asheville, NC to Arthur and Mabel Bishop. He is survived by two sisters, one brother, four daughters, four grand-children, four great-grandchildren and his girlfriend of nine years. Herman Bishop was a great man and a very strong, intelligent, and caring person. He was always there to assist or lend a hand for his family, friends, or even a stranger and he loved spending time with his family. He worked over sixty years in the dental field, loved his occupation and he was known as the Tooth Fairy. Herman also loved watching sports, playing horse shoes, going to the local flea markets, shooting matches, fishing or hunting and loved to travel and experience life to the fullest. He has been an inspiration to anyone that knew him. He spent many Wednesday mornings at Hardees in Lenoir playing his mandolin along with several other band members. Herman loved to tell jokes just to make someone laugh. What a beautiful soul he had. He was of Baptist Faith and will be forever missed but never forgotten. Until we see you again in those Golden Gates of Heaven, we love you! A graveside service celebrating Herman’s life well be held at Blue Ridge Memorial Park on Sunday, February 14, 2021 at 3:00 PM with Pastor Marvin Ford officiating. The family will have a private viewing from 12:00 until 2:00 in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service. Covid guidelines will be observed with face masks and social distancing with limited numbers allowed.
