Hildred Boyce Clark

Lenoir, NC- Mr. Hildred Boyce Clark, age 81, of Lenoir, passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory. Born April 14, 1930 in Caldwell County, Mr. Clark was a son of the late Robey Haskell and Myrtle Clara Walker Clark and the husband of Mrs. Polly Campbell Clark of the home. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Mildred Clark, Earline Clark Hanson and one brother, Haskell Coleman Clark. Mr. Clark was a wonderful Christian man, a member of West Lenoir Baptist Church where he taught Sunday school for 44 years. He was a US Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict in Japan as a tank operator. He was known as ?Coach Clark? to so many, as he enjoyed his career as a high school coach serving, Hudson High School, Gamewell-Collettsville High School, Old Fort High School and retiring from West McDowell Middle School. Other than his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Sherry Clark Craig and husband Joey of Lenoir, Julie Clark Price and husband Revered Douglas Price of Lenoir; 2 brothers, Cecil L. Clark and wife Gladys of Hudson, Thurman B. Clark and wife Jessie of Mt. Airy and the special joys of his life, his grandchildren, Matthew Joseph Craig, Meredith Erin Craig, Andrew Douglas Price, Anna Caroline Price and Mason Thomas Craig. A celebration of Mr. Clark?s life will be held 3:00 PM Saturday, February 11, 2012 at West Lenoir Baptist Church with Reverend Rick Safriet and Reverend Douglas Price officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:00 until 3:00 PM, prior to the service at West Lenoir Baptist Church. Pallbearers will be: Joey Craig, Matthew Craig, Mason Craig, Andrew Price, Steve Melton, Eddie Carswell, Mike Moore and Chad Wright. Honorary Pallbearers will be his prayer group, Gene Snipes, Steve Campbell, George Keller, Sammy Moore, Don Crisp and Matthew Griffin. Flowers are appreciated, or memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 4217 Park Place Ct., Glen Allen, VA 23060.
