Ida Belle Bumgarner

Granite Falls – Mrs. Ida Belle Blackburn Bumgarner, age 73, passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2015 at Frye Regional Medical Center. She was born in Wilkes County on March 2, 1942 to the late Lonnie Blackburn and Elsie Porter Blackburn. She was married for 55 years to Bill Bumgarner of the home. Mrs. Bumgarner was a member of New Vision Baptist Fellowship in Granite Falls. She and her husband spent more than 20 years working in Children’s Homes across North Carolina. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Terry Blackburn. Other than her husband, she is survived by her brother, David “Bud” Blackburn and wife, Nancy; sister, Linda Raybon and husband, Mike; and sisters, Bonnie Pennell and Sandra Coffey. A celebration of Mrs. Bumgarner’s life will held at New Vision Baptist Fellowship on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at 3:00 PM with Pastor Ashley Crouse officiating. Burial will immediately follow the service in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 prior to the service.
