Jack Sweitzer

Granite Falls, NC- Mr. Jack Edwin Sweitzer, age 77, of Granite Falls passed away on Thursday, September 15, 2016 at Caldwell Hospice in Hudson. Born May 26, 1939 in Corinth, West Virginia, Jack was a son of the late Gilmore and Hazel Shaffer Sweitzer. He had worked for Broyhill Furniture as a truck driver for many years and also served in the Army Reserves. He was a member of the Union Grove Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Joe Sweitzer. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Lois Andes Sweitzer of the Home; two sons, Stephen Sweitzer (wife Trisha) and Larry Sweitzer; a brother, Gilmore Sweitzer Jr. (wife Nancy); four grandchildren, Brandon Sweitzer, Joshua Sweitzer (wife Alaina), Emily Sweitzer and Mackenzie Sweitzer; a great grandson, Elijah Sweitzer; he is also survived by numerous other relatives. A memorial service celebrating Jack’s life will be held on Sunday, September 18, 2016 at 3:00 PM at the Union Grove Baptist Church with Reverend Sam Craven officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the church.
