James "Jim" Roger Holman Jr.

James Roger Holman, Jr, 77, of Lenoir, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2025. Jim was born in Lenoir, NC, to James R. Holman, Sr., and Myrtle Bean Holman, on May 6, 1948. Jim was preceded in death by his father, and his beloved brother, Jerry M. Holman, of Lenoir, NC.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving family: wife, Ena Waters Holman (of the home), daughters, Jennifer Holman Austin (Thomas) of Mebane, NC, and Robin Holman Bohler of Lenoir, NC; his grandchildren, Jessica Morgan Bohler of Lenoir, NC, Caden Thomas Austin of Mebane, NC, Trey Scott Bohler (Andrea) of Lenoir, NC, Evan James Austin of Mebane, NC, and Kaelee Shea Bohler of Lenoir, NC, and his mother Myrtle Bean Holman, of Hickory, NC, and brothers, Gregory Keith Holman (Cindy) of Hampstead, NC, and Jeffery Wayne Holman (Sandra) of Vale, NC.

Jim served in the Army National Guard and spent his working career in telecommunications, retiring as a supervisor with Sprint/Centel. Jim found his greatest joy when surrounded by his children and grandchildren. He took great pleasure in preparing meals for family gatherings. He was very proud of his grandchildren and would share details of their accomplishments great and small to anyone who would listen. He had a wonderfully infectious laugh and loved to tell and retell his favorite family anecdotes, as well as the adventures (and misadventures) of his youth, and laughed just as much on the one-hundredth telling as he did the first.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 20, 2025 at Evan’s Funeral Service from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with graveside service immediately following at Blue Ridge Memorial Park. Ministers officiating will be Reverend Randy Goode and Reverend Gary Waters.
